Charm & Fig — orange

This one is so unique and a joy for me to share. I met Melissa Fitzerald and Joseph West in my previous career, working for Downtown Houston. I was so honored when they came to me for their wedding invitations, and I knew that we would come up with something that could only be for Melissa and Joe.  Before I get into stationery details... their story gives me some warm and fuzzies. The short version is that these two started out as friends and photographer buds. Fell in love with each other, inspired each other, fell in love with West Texas, got married...

That face! It's no wonder our sweet friend, Miles got the nickname "Miles Smiles" from his parents... and even better than Jazz legend Miles Davis has an album called Miles Smiles, which created the most obvious invitation for little Miles's first birthday invitation. Full disclosure: Miles's mommy is my dear friend, Ginny Lee and I love her son and his juicy lips. She came to me with the idea of a Miles Smiles Album invite and I had just the tools to pull it off: photoshop for that ridiculously cute face, glassine envelopes for our "record" sleeve and scissors to cute...

This wedding suite made me want to pull out cozy wool blankets and the spiked-apple cider right away! Taylor unabashedly loves orange which was a no-brainer to use for her fall wedding, and a not-so-secret tribute to her beloved Texas Longhorns. We ran with the  idea of using lots of copper, fall florals and romantic details for this black tie wedding.First impressions are important! The first thing guests would see when they opened the interior envelope was lined with a fall floral displaying sophisticated hues orange, wine, plum and forest green. True story: another client saw a sample of this...

It's fall y'all! I bet I'm the only person who has said that on the internet today. In the spirit of the first day of fall, I wanted to share these invitations from last year. It's a sweltering 93 degrees here in Houston, but hats off to all of you beautiful people wearing scarves and flannel. Sydney was having a party at a farm during pumpkin season, so was I heavily inspired unruly pumpkin patches, Oktoberfest and maybe some craft brews. It should be noted that no three-year olds consumed beer at this party. ...and look! We went to this shin-dig-- Sydney...

Brunch vibes! Light, dreamy and bubbly. For my friend Andrea's bachelorette brunch we showered her with pretty unmentionables and ate delicious meals out of tiny cast-iron skillets. The invitation design was feminine, yet modern and paired with my favorite chartreuse envelope and a punchy floral liner. My brunch from La Grange. Delish.
