This one is so unique and a joy for me to share. I met Melissa Fitzerald and Joseph West in my previous career, working for Downtown Houston. I was so honored when they came to me for their wedding invitations, and I knew that we would come up with something that could only be for Melissa and Joe.
Before I get into stationery details... their story gives me some warm and fuzzies. The short version is that these two started out as friends and photographer buds. Fell in love with each other, inspired each other, fell in love with West Texas, got married in West Texas (Marfa!). Cut to three years later, they each have creative careers (independently and together) that collectively cover weddings, portraits, studio space and now an adorable property rental out in Marfa, named Juniper Moon.
Since the last name is West and the couple were getting married in West Texas, we ran wild with that theme while maintaining a minimal and modern aesthetic for which Marfa is known.
On the invitation and RSVP piece, we used some of Joe's photographs of West Texas that he shot on film, which gave the suite a colorful and ethereal vibe. The photographs gave me such an vibrant palette of sunset orange and blue, and was the source of the ombre inspiration throughout the printed materials. On both the invitation and RSVP card, we foil-printed white foil on top of these pieces..the foil stamping was extremely delicate, but it shines great in the light and didn't compete beauty of the photographs.

One of the standout pieces was the ombre welcome map that included the wedding events, locations, favorite watering holes and must-see art spaces for their wedding guests to use as a weekend guide to the tiny town of Marfa. It's always a good idea to include something like this for destination weddings, especially if there's a chance your guests aren't familiar with the destination. 
For the Thank You cards, I created an ombre card featuring a custom monogram with their married initials. The #FitzGoesWest theme was so much fun design around.
