Christina and Matt were planning a fabulous destination wedding in Key Largo, Florida at the Ocean Reef Club and wanted to create a chic, tropical but neutral wedding invitation suite. We started with a fabulous monogram that the bride created herself, fashioning it after her favorite Champagne label, Veueve Cliquot. I'll go ahead and have a glass, thank you.
Packaging was important, as the bride works in advertising and loves branding (always a bonus). We created a custom wax seal with a hidden "Swan" design made by her mother-in-law as a nod to her new last name. The Swan design was re-incorporated in tone-on-tone pattern for the envelope liner. Vellum paper and the white wax seal added texture to the overall suite.
The invitation itself had a blind impression of the Bride and Groom's custom monogram, black letterpress and gold copper foil. We alternated between block and script typography to spark visual interest and show off the letterpress printing effect.
We continued the blind impression on the RSVP card with bold RSVP text and a palm leaf border. The RSVP envelope was printed in copper foil for another pop of color -- but my goodness, no so easy to photograph :)
For the reception card, a small card blind-letterpressed with a palm tree with and copper foil. This neutral palette is so timeless and definitely sent guests the message that there was a fabulous weekend ahead!
