Molly and Nik planned to have a private ceremony for their nuptials, but they opted for some pretty paper to share the news. As a interior designer, Molly had the genius idea to use a botanical wallpaper for her envelope liners. She selected Zoffany's gorgeous Romy's Garden pattern in silver - with blooming cream peonies, playful insects and barely-blush sprigs of blooms, it was a super sweet homage to new beginnings. For the card, we used double-ply 100% cotton Lettra paper, letterpressed it with a green-toned black ink, and blind-embossed the couple's monogram at top center. No doubt, my favorite scene from Wizard of Oz is when Dorthy & Co. find themselves in the field of poppies as they approach the Emerald City. So when I was approached to create some Wizard of Oz-inspired invitations for a wedding shower, I knew there'd be no yellow brick road or rainbows, but a lots of pretty botanical poppies and little hint of Dorothy's famous gingham dress. Alice and Eric are getting married in France (!!!) this week. With guests coming from afar to celebrate their love, the groom's family hosted a Méchoui welcome dinner at a country home near Bordeaux. Inspired by the countryside, quaint markets and summer fields... I came up with the quintessential French country invitation, complete with a ticking-lined envelope. Congrats to Alice & Eric! Stephanie's bridesmaids were throwing her shower at the Crosby Hotel in New York, and she sent them my way for her invitations. With it's bright colors, and mix-and-match patterns and unique shapes we used the Crosby's funky interiors as inspiration. The invitations and inserts were digitally printed, featuring the bride's favorite florals, color blocking and a theme of blush and navy throughout. If you choose Tulum, Mexico for you wedding destination, chances are you're a down-to-earth, easy-going couple. Nan and Tim are definitely those people and wanted to keep their invitations clean and modern with hints of natural elements to maintain their vision of a laid-back wedding celebration. We used sage and pewter ink, minimal sans-serif typography and printed everything on 100% cotton paper. The pieces were then bundled with a simple brass paperclip and enclosed in a 6 x 8" sturdy kraft mailer with a belt label.
