Katie and Austin came to me looking romantic and elegant invitations for their Palm Springs wedding. We decided to use gold foil, dusty blue and cool gray for a romantic palette, and infused hand-illustrated elements into the suite to give it an organic touch. The invitation was a mix of dusty blue letterpress and gold foil, with hand-drawn floral illustrations and a delicate, gold-foil stamped wreath monogram. Megan knew right off the bat she wanted charcoal gray and gold to be the main focus of her wedding invitations. I happily obliged, as it's one of my personal favorite neutral color combinations. The wedding itself would romantic and rustic, so we used Debi Sementelli's flirty Cantoni script to reflect that theme. I had the pleasure of working with my friend and jewelry designer Rannie Balias, to create a one-of-a-kind-wedding invitation inspired by the ceremony venue, James Turrell's Live Oak Friends Meeting in Houston, Texas. Rannie and I share a love for Futura, the color grey, and neutral metallics. Thinking about Turrell's skyspace, it was important for light to interact with the invitation. We started with a square shape, mixing matte and metallic papers, with touches of geometric shapes throughout the suite. These coaster save the dates were nice and thick, with a clean design and neutral colors to match their wedding invitations. I'm very excited to share Dara and Paul's gold foil wedding invitation suite -- hands down one of my favorite wedding projects I worked on this year.
