As Allison and Chuck were planning a black tie December wedding, we took a cue from the reception venue that was nestled along Houston’s Buffalo Bayou. We anchored the suite around a deep forest green to reflect the bayou’s lush backdrop of oak and pine trees on the water. The glimmers of copper were reminiscent of the city's lights reflecting on the water and embracing a holiday color scheme.

The couple has an affinity for mid-century design (Palm Springs honeymoon!), so we incorporated the coolness and elegance of that era with typography and clean lines throughout the suite.

We introduced these aesthetics with a 5 x 5”  letterpress Save the Date that featured a playful typography and clean borders that paved the way for the rest of the wedding paper. The Save the Date was letterpressed in forest green and foil-stamped with copper on a creme paper that was duplexed with the softest dusty blue.

The square shape continued with the invitation, which was letterpressed in forest green with a delicate, geometric copper border onto double-ply 100% cotton lettra paper. A forest green reception card was foil- printed in copper at an angle to mix-it up with the square -- the copper and green contrast was a festive nod to holiday season.

On the RSVP card, we continued mixing up the borders -- going with a craftsman style “window” around the envelope address and adorned with vintage stamps with southern themes.

The entire suite was wrapped up with a copper ribbon and sealed with a copper monogram diamond, and nested among the other pieces creating satisfying juxtaposition of color and geometry. The dark green envelope liner created a dramatic backdrop for the rest of the suite.

At the wedding reception, guests were greeted at the with forest green name cards, hand-written in white ink and square table numbers that were hand-painted with shimmery copper brushstrokes. A festive touch to a fabulous evening!

The bridal brunch invitation was the moody and floral, featuring a lush botanical magnolia to pay homage to the bride’s southern roots. It was laser-printed on a textured cardstock  and enveloped in the signature forest green and addressed with a white monoline script.
