Pancakes & Pajamas --literally two of my favorite things. When this project came to me, I was secretly annoyed that I hadn't been celebrating my birthday like this for the past 10 years. For the invitation, we knew we wanted it to be fun, welcoming and to feature the birthday boy himself. I illustrated a little pancake character and bunny slippers that were used throughout the party. Graham's mom Ashley, a former event planner, left no detail overlooked. She turned her home into Graham's House of Pancakes for his first birthday bash! My biggest announcement yet... we welcomed sweet Charlie into this world on September 10, 2014. He was born such a little grumpster and like every new mama, I anxiously waited for him to smile at us. When I finally captured his first little coy smile, the wheels started turning for his baby announcement. I finally settled on gold foil stamped onto Stardream aquamarine paper with a matte mint envelope, and some of my current favorite fonts, Core Circus, Raleway and Melany Lane. Little boy birthday party -- what a nice change of pace! I was thrilled when Parker's mom commissioned me to create his woodland wonderland birthday party invitations. I got lost in researching all the woodland animals, but we finally settled on the cheerful owl and the friendly fox. The best part of this project? I got to go to the party and watch Parker attack a cake so very carefully and methodically. It was pretty darn cute! For custom invitations, contact Charm & Fig.
I love me some baby girls, baby girl. We pretty much got free reign on the project, with guidelines to use turquoise, poppy & pink (a fab color combo, if you ask me) and to make it kinda funky and girly. It has been extra special to design this baby shower invitation because we've gotten to know the mom-to-be a lot better throughout her pregnancy and are anxiously awaiting the baby's arrival! Sydney already has some pretty awesome parents.
