Lauren CovingtonThis bride was a dream client! An event planner, based in NYC, she had a good idea of what she wanted. Pretty, nautical-inspired invitations with a Maine moose sprinkled about. The moose is the magical beast of Maine's wildlife, and pretty close pronunciation of her new last name. How could we not?
For the design, I embraced the geometrics of nautical flags throughout, steering clear of overdone anchors for a subtle nautical vibe. For the color palette, we started with crisp whites, and then sprinkled in sun-bleached ocean hues, kraft paper and touches of gold.
Everything was bundled in kraft folder and envelopes, both foil-stamped with moose tracks. The envelopes were covered in vintage nautical stamps and addressed in white calligraphy by the talented Dionne Christiansen of Nib & Pixel.
While the invitation itself was formal, the rest of the pieces were festive to indicate that an amazing weekend in Bar Harbor, Maine lay ahead.
Stef and Sam's number one goal was to show their friends and family a good time. Obviously, the weekend started with a Bar Harbor welcome bar rally. Sign. Me. Up. Thank you notes were simple and sweet, gold foil on white paper and white foil addresses on kraft envelopes. I kept the design broad enough so they weren't limited wedding gratitudes.
Inside the moose-track pocket, we included a lobster buoy web card and an extra reminder of the date.
