When I first met with Kira and Trey, the top priority for the couple was to create a welcoming invitation that had hints of festive, tropical graphics and understated elegance for their four day celebration in the Mexican Riviera Maya. For the color palette, we steered clear of typical over-saturated “fiesta” colors, and selected natural, sunbleached colors accented by soft metallics. We honored Mexico’s flora and fauna by incorporating lush palms and sweet little animals throughout the invitation. I'm so late to share these invitations -- Lindsay and Michael were married a year ago today at a winery in Dripping Springs, Texas -- Happy Anniversary, Lightfoots! It was such a pleasure to work with Lindsay and catch up on life; we go WAY back to elementary school and swim team -- Go Surfers :) For the invitations, we designed them to be romantic, with some rustic touches to pay homage to the Texas Hill Country. Back to bachelorette fun times! For Tessa's "final fiesta" I created a margarita-inspired invitation with geometric shapes and bold pops of green, peach and black. The front was adorned with a real cocktail umbrella, and the back had all the fun details with a pull-out weekend itinerary in a tiny black envelope. Envelopes were bright green and addressed with bold, black brush lettering. I used a Pentel Color Brush Pen for the guests' names -- this pen has a huge ink tube that you squeeze into the brush, so it gives a very authentic painted look. Alexys & Matt were getting married in Lake Tahoe, California and wanted a rustic and elegant invitation to match their ceremony. We started with a rose gold foil invitation with a monogram and a few nautical lake details and a loose, romantic monogram. We found the perfect Lake Tahoe vintage post card that added the most beautiful hues of pink, blue and green that remind me of a foggy spring morning. The kraft envelopes were were calligraphed by Dionne of Nib & Pixel with white ink, and foil-stamped on the back with white foil. I loved all the light details for this...
