As Kelly and Michael were planning their wedding, they knew they wanted romantic Texas Hill Country affair with the slightest touch of rusticity. If Marie Antoinette were to tie the knot in Texas, this would be her invitation... For the invitation, we selected Crane's 100% cotton double-ply Lettra paper to achieve the best impression for letterpress printing and foil stamping. We used a dusty blue gray as the primary color, inspired by the muted tones of desert succulents and the bridesmaids dresses -- so chic! Megan knew right off the bat she wanted charcoal gray and gold to be the main focus of her wedding invitations. I happily obliged, as it's one of my personal favorite neutral color combinations. The wedding itself would romantic and rustic, so we used Debi Sementelli's flirty Cantoni script to reflect that theme. Stephanie's bridesmaids were throwing her shower at the Crosby Hotel in New York, and she sent them my way for her invitations. With it's bright colors, and mix-and-match patterns and unique shapes we used the Crosby's funky interiors as inspiration. The invitations and inserts were digitally printed, featuring the bride's favorite florals, color blocking and a theme of blush and navy throughout. Kelly's best girls planned a festive champagne-filled evening to shower her with pretty "unmentionables." For her invitation, we used whimsical hand-lettered calligraphy and elegant type for an overall girlish, yet sophisticated feeling.
