Molly and Nik planned to have a private ceremony for their nuptials, but they opted for some pretty paper to share the news. As a interior designer, Molly had the genius idea to use a botanical wallpaper for her envelope liners. She selected Zoffany's gorgeous Romy's Garden pattern in silver - with blooming cream peonies, playful insects and barely-blush sprigs of blooms, it was a super sweet homage to new beginnings. For the card, we used double-ply 100% cotton Lettra paper, letterpressed it with a green-toned black ink, and blind-embossed the couple's monogram at top center. My little brother Cameron graduated from the University of Texas at Austin last weekend. He didn't want to pay and arm and a leg for formal announcements, so I was thrilled when he came to me for a custom, affordable solution. I used traditional wording, type and layout for the invitation but used the #10 size card to make it a little more interesting. I had these laser-printed on Crest solar white paper and backed by Stardream copper paper that comes pretty darn close to UT's signature burnt orange. My biggest announcement yet... we welcomed sweet Charlie into this world on September 10, 2014. He was born such a little grumpster and like every new mama, I anxiously waited for him to smile at us. When I finally captured his first little coy smile, the wheels started turning for his baby announcement. I finally settled on gold foil stamped onto Stardream aquamarine paper with a matte mint envelope, and some of my current favorite fonts, Core Circus, Raleway and Melany Lane. Paul proposed to Dara at Chicago's Navy Pier, so it was a natural backdrop for their Save the Date announcements. Our biggest accomplishment of 2013 was finding a place to call our own. After some aggressive searching and saving we found a great little 1938 bungalow in Houston's East End. During our search, one house we visited had an amazing grapefruit tree and although the house wasn't right for us, we were hellbent on planting a grapefruit tree in whichever house we ended up buying. We found our house, we planted the tree and even though it bears no fruit, it was only natural that we celebrated our new ouse and tree with rosemary salty dogs. Good gin, fresh grapefruits...
