rannie & asher's minimal & modern wedding invitations inspired by james turrell's skyspace

Lauren Covington charm and fig custom geometric gold gray grey Invitations james turrell metallic modern wedding invitation wedding paper

I had the pleasure of working with my friend and jewelry designer Rannie Balias, to create a one-of-a-kind-wedding invitation inspired by the ceremony venue, James Turrell's Live Oak Friends Meeting in Houston, Texas.  Rannie and I share a love for Futura, the color grey, and neutral metallics. Thinking about Turrell's skyspace, it was important for light to interact with the invitation. We started with a square shape, mixing matte and metallic papers, with touches of geometric shapes throughout the suite. The invitation itself had a matt grey jacket with a blade-cut 'skyspace' to showcase the bride and grooms' names. Rannie and Asher...

Lauren Covington Blush Botanical Bridal charm & fig custom Floral geometric Invitations Modern Navy Party Pink Poppy Shower wedding shower

Stephanie's bridesmaids were throwing her shower at the Crosby Hotel in New York, and she sent them my way for her invitations. With it's bright colors, and mix-and-match patterns and unique shapes we used the Crosby's funky interiors as inspiration.  The invitations and inserts were digitally printed, featuring the bride's favorite florals, color blocking and a theme of blush and navy throughout.  The shower hosts also wanted to include blank cards for guests to write their favorite memory with the bride and attach to their gift. I loved this idea, as it didn't put guests on the spot at the...

Amanda's sister came to me looking for a fun invitation to celebrate a fabulous bachelorette weekend. She knew Amanda would like anything girly and sparkly, so I came up with a pink and glittery-gold invitation packed with information for the celebration ahead. All of the lettering was done by hand using a mix of traditional calligraphy and print lettering, giving the invitation a funky mix-and-match look that was unified by an oblique calligraphy pen. The invite was digitally printed on  Neenah's Stardream paper and embesllished with Paper Source's gold glitter paper. For custom wedding invitations,  contact Charm & Fig .

Lauren Covington blush bridal shower calligraphy champagne charm & fig custom dinner party envelope envelope liner gold hand-letter invitation invite modern paper wedding paper wedding shower

I was honored to design an invitation and menu for my lovely friend's bridal shower dinner party earlier this month. Her bridesmaids put together a fabulous dinner party, complete with a six-course meal! We used black, white, gold, champagne with subtle blush accents, to match Sarah's wedding colors. I sprinkled in some custom calligraphy on the invitation, dinner menu, envelopes and place cards.  I have to say, this is the way to go for intimate showers. All the guests got a chance to sit and actually talk -- tell stories, drink wine and catch up on everyone's lives -- so much better than...
