april is national letter writing month! this is how we do it...

Lauren Covington charm and fig snail mail stationery vintage statmps write_on campaign writing letters

Getting real mail is my favorite. I had about a dozen pen pals growing up... from cousins who lived far away and my best friends who lives across town. Free time at summer camp was spent writing letters to family, and even the President of the United States. Getting mail from the White House was always awesome. I still remember the blind embossed return address on the White House envelope and receiving cute the photographs of the First Pets. RIP Socks. RIP Buddy.
When I heard about the write_on campaign, an effort to preserve the art of letter writing by getting participants to write 30 letters in April, it didn't take long for me to get on board. As a wedding invitation designer, I have more extra envelopes, envelope liners and vintage stamps than I can handle. Plus, this will give me  a change to work on my calligraphy skills for addressing envelopes.
Thinking about joining in on the fun? Do it! No sign-up required, just get started. But here's some awesome letter-writing tips and visual inspiration from Joya Rose of Joya rose illustrations.
