Kelly's best girls planned a festive champagne-filled evening to shower her with pretty "unmentionables." For her invitation, we used whimsical hand-lettered calligraphy and elegant type for an overall girlish, yet sophisticated feeling. Amanda's sister came to me looking for a fun invitation to celebrate a fabulous bachelorette weekend. She knew Amanda would like anything girly and sparkly, so I came up with a pink and glittery-gold invitation packed with information for the celebration ahead. All of the lettering was done by hand using a mix of traditional calligraphy and print lettering, giving the invitation a funky mix-and-match look that was unified by an oblique calligraphy pen. I was honored to design an invitation and menu for my lovely friend's bridal shower dinner party earlier this month. Her bridesmaids put together a fabulous dinner party, complete with a six-course meal! We used black, white, gold, champagne with subtle blush accents, to match Sarah's wedding colors. I sprinkled in some custom calligraphy on the invitation, dinner menu, envelopes and place cards. I have to say, this is the way to go for intimate showers. This bride hails from New York City and was being honored by her best home town gals in Houston. For her bridal shower invite, we went with a romantic garden party theme that was feminine without being too soft.We started by mixing hand-lettered calligraphy and ultra-mod typography to find a balance between old and new. Then we peppered in unexpected blue florals, tiny black polka dots and tied it all together with a simple black border for a modern floral motif.
