Alexys & Matt were getting married in Lake Tahoe, California and wanted a rustic and elegant invitation to match their ceremony. We started with a rose gold foil invitation with a monogram and a few nautical lake details and a loose, romantic monogram. We found the perfect Lake Tahoe vintage post card that added the most beautiful hues of pink, blue and green that remind me of a foggy spring morning. As Kelly and Michael were planning their wedding, they knew they wanted romantic Texas Hill Country affair with the slightest touch of rusticity. If Marie Antoinette were to tie the knot in Texas, this would be her invitation...    For the invitation, we selected Crane's 100% cotton double-ply Lettra paper to achieve the best impression for letterpress printing and foil stamping. You'll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind / Irish Proverb Yaas! Put in the work. I'm working on my brush lettering and trying to develop a few different styles. This one being more squatty and abstract, with a high contrast of thick and thin strokes. I love using Tombow's dual brush pens for casual calligraphy lettering. They make lettering so easy and almost have a watercolor quality to them.

Kennedy came to me looking for wedding invitations that were classic and gorgeous with a few modern touches. I am so pleased how these turned out! We created a custom monogram with the bride and groom's first initials, and had it used throughout the suite - on the head of the invitation, on the inner envelope flap and on the dinner menus and ceremony programs. The mix of calligraphy and type blurred the lines between traditional and modern, giving the suite an updated look.
